Hao Li is an assistant professor of Computer Science at the University of Southern California after spending a year as a research lead at Industrial Light & Magic, working on the next generation real-time performance capture technologies for the upcoming Star Wars movies. Prior to joining the force, he spent a year as a postdoctoral researcher at Columbia and Princeton Universities. His research lies in geometry processing, 3D reconstruction, and performance capture with applications ranging from visual effects to biomedicine. He obtained his PhD from ETH Zurich (2010) and his MSc from the University of Karlsruhe (2006), both in Computer Science.
